Today, on our nation’s most cherished holiday, Valetiran National Unity Day, we celebrate a monumental achievement that symbolizes the very essence of our values: unity, liberty, compromise, and cultural preservation. At precisely 15:50:53 VTZ (23:50:53 UTC), Prime Minister Ethan Casper proudly declared the successful ratification of the new Constitution of the Federal Republic of Valetira, endorsed unanimously by all 281 voting citizens – a stunning 100% approval.
A Constitution Embodying Our Core Values
The ratification of this Constitution marks the beginning of a new era for Valetira. Crafted meticulously over numerous revisions, our Constitution embodies our foundational principles clearly articulated in its Preamble:
“We, the citizens of the Federal Republic of Valetira, establish this Constitution to preserve our culture, ensure liberty, unity, and compromise, and secure happiness through union and liberty.”
Reflecting the diverse spirit of our three federated states – Valetira, Ajid, and Wuzuyar – the Constitution ensures each state’s identity is respected while fostering national cohesion through clearly defined legislative, judicial, and executive roles. It celebrates Ajid’s libertarian ethos, Wuzuyar’s structured governance, and Valetira’s capital-state status, underscoring our commitment to respecting diverse philosophies within a unified national framework.
A Proud Day of Unity
The choice to finalize voting today was intentional, symbolically linking our unity through constitutional ratification with the celebrations of Valetiran National Unity Day. Just as this holiday commemorates our collective resolve and cooperative spirit, the ratification process itself became an expression of these very values.
All eligible citizens participated actively in the democratic process, illustrating our dedication to civic engagement—a cornerstone of our republic. The unprecedented unanimity demonstrates a profound national consensus about our future path and governance structure.
Immediate Implementation and Transitional Period
With immediate effect from today, March 12, 2025 (15/03/11725 VC), the new Constitution is the supreme law of Valetira. A two-year transitional period until March 12, 2027 (15/03/11727 VC) will ensure a smooth alignment of existing institutions, laws, and practices with the newly established constitutional norms.
During this transitional period, citizens and institutions alike will have ample time to adapt, supported by legislative oversight from our Citizens’ Assembly and judicial guidance from our Supreme Court. As Prime Minister Casper emphasized, “This transitional phase will solidify our commitment to the rule of law and reinforce our cultural and political unity.”
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this profound achievement, let us remember that this Constitution is not merely a legal document; it is a living testament to our collective will, our shared cultural identity, and our unwavering belief in the power of liberty and compromise. We move forward together, guided by principles ensuring our nation’s strength and prosperity.
Today, we have not just ratified a Constitution – we have reaffirmed the very ideals that make us proudly Valetiran.
